Long time no post. How have you been?

I can’t believe it’s been three years since I last posted. You must be wondering, who is this person who’s landed in your inbox/feed?

Well, I’m that playwright who began writing a novel in lockdown and you wanted to keep in touch. I’m writing today because I wanted to share some news.

Are you ready?

Drumroll please…

I’ve finally finished that novel 🥳

Yes that’s right, the novel I started in 2020, that had been brewing for years and I posted about in this blog, is done. I actually finished it on NYE 2025 and am now trying to find a way to get it out into the world. It’s a coming-of-age fantasy adventure, where none of the characters end up who they set out to be in the beginning. Much like my experience of life. I won’t say more. Second announcement! Toot toot!

I’ve begun a second book. I actually wrote the first part a couple of years ago, and a section of its back story even before that, but I was on retreat earlier this year to get back to it, and now have 70% of it done. I’m hoping to have a first draft finished by the end of this year (keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck!).

A gift for you

One of the many differences between writing novels and theatre is that you tend to keep your story secret until its published. None of the online magazines are still available that I’ve been published in, and for those of you interested in my fiction writing, I wanted to give you a free story to whet your appetite.

I wrote Traitor years ago. It’s an eerie flash fiction that still gives me the creeps today. If you’re in the mood for something short and creepy give it a read.
